About this role
Marketing and Communications Trainer
Project Description: Organizations in Georgia are seeking marketing and communications professionals to strengthen their messaging and improve audience engagement. Many organizations, associations and social enterprises supporting vulnerable groups and community development struggle to communicate their impact and gain the broad community support needed to sustain their work in a rapidly evolving environment. New legal and reporting requirements have increased administrative demands, leaving organizations with less time and capacity to focus on strategic communications. Limited funding further restricts staff access to training in writing, reporting, partnership communication, and public engagement. While organizations need stronger connections with the private sector and local governments, many lack clear communication plans and updated outreach tools. These gaps hinder their ability to convey their mission, highlight community impact, attract partners, and maintain public engagement. As a Marketing and Communications Trainer, you will collaborate with an organization to improve their communication practices for enhanced visibility and public relations. Alongside the staff, you will develop clear messaging and stronger outreach tools that will increase community participation, attract new partners, and build trust. With your support, the organization can share their results more effectively, connect with a wider audience, and access new opportunities.
Required Skills: Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing management, brand management, or related fields. AND Three or more years of experience with strategic communications and public awareness campaigns.
Living Conditions: Volunteers may begin their service living with a host family or in independent housing, depending on options available. Semi‑urban and urban communities across regions are well connected by minibuses and taxis. Worksite travel typically ranges from 20–45 minutes. Access to basic services is widely available.
Job Highlights: Gain international marketing experience while building a nuanced understanding of Georgian audiences. Advance your expertise in communication strategy, partner engagement, public outreach, and content development by working with professionals from Georgia. Develop Georgian language proficiency through immersive, daily conversations.
Activities: Develop stakeholder engagement plans for the organization and key projects, ensuring messaging, outreach, and materials align with stakeholder interests. Support the design and refinement of stakeholder engagement strategies and tactics. Update and develop social media tools and other digital platforms to enhance outreach and impact. Identify potential stakeholders for partnership and assist with outreach. Support project development and proposal writing to ensure the projects reflect the stakeholder engagement strategies effectively. Design and deliver professional development workshops in areas, such as presentations, reporting, and business writing. Support staff to develop English language skills. You may also work on additional projects that meet the community’s interests and priorities, such as mentoring community members on public speaking and ethical social media engagement.
Training: After a three-week orientation on topics such as health and safety, you will move to a semi-urban or an urban community where you will collaborate with a socially focused organization or institution. You will work with the partner and your community to assess marketing needs and develop a work plan in line with their established goals.
Peace Corps/Georgia will equip you with Georgian language resources and you may work with a tutor who can help you build basic language skills to connect with the community.
