BAE Systems is a leader in the defense industry, and currently has a need for an Accountant II to join the Combat Mission Systems accounting team. This is a payroll accounting role in addition to travel & expense accounting support. This position works independently and as a team, applying accounting knowledge, attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and effective communication abilities.
Primary responsibilities include: Journal entries and accounting close activities Convert payroll import files to Excel, prepare control reports, and perform checks across multiple sources to identify mismatches Perform account reconciliations Partner with the Enterprise Shared Services Payroll and Tax teams to resolve unreconciled transactions Research issues with assistance as needed and perform corrective actions Prepare payment requests in KTA for payroll related payables Payroll cash forecasting Partner with Concur Travel & Expense team on travel accounting matters and Program Finance on travel and purchasing card adjusting entries Maintain appropriate procedures, records, and documentation to support cross training and audit activities Respond to inquiries and data requests from internal customers, DCAA auditors, and external auditors Support initiatives to automate, enhance, and streamline processes Other duties as assigned
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities: Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience Ability to demonstrate strong understanding of accounting concepts Strong analytical skills and above-average Microsoft Suite skills, especially Excel Good planning, time management, and organization skills in working with high volume of data and analyses Ability to prioritize and self-manage a multi-tasked workload in a fast-paced environment Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills Sound interpersonal and communication skills Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement while complying with policies, procedures, and accounting principles
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Payroll/labor accounting experience Oracle R12 ERP experience Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) Previous experience in a Government Contractor setting
Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $61278 - $104173
