Salary: £45,000 - 65,000 per year
Requirements: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.5+ years of software engineering experience, with a clear backend focus.Fullstack capability, including comfort working in a modern React/TypeScript codebase.Experience with functional programming concepts or languages.Strong understanding of software engineering principles, including type systems, composition, testing, Clean Code, and Clean Architecture.Ability to translate business problems into precise requirements and specifications, then into code.Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to connect daily work to team and company goals, balance costs and benefits, and deliver high-quality solutions efficiently.Ownership of technical work, the platform, and team outcomes.Ability to simplify complex systems, identify core concepts, and communicate complex ideas clearly.Nice to have: familiarity with distributed systems, Kubernetes, or cloud infrastructure; experience with ERP systems or finance, procurement, or supply chain processes; experience on a platform, infrastructure, or developer experience team; experience with large-scale migrations or incremental modernization; German language skills. Responsibilities: Design and develop shared backend services and APIs with clear contracts and abstractions suited to product teams needs.Work with product teams and business stakeholders to identify platform limitations and deliver improvements that benefit users.Build, operate, analyze, and continuously improve robust, reliable systems.Write clean, maintainable, high-quality code across the stack; conduct code reviews and contribute to technical excellence.Collaborate on system design, technology choices, and platform boundaries, optimizing for scalability, performance, and maintainability.Guide technical direction on major initiatives, including migrations and platform capabilities, and mentor team members.Collaborate with colleagues to improve processes, tools, and team practices and foster a culture of learning and growth. We are BLP Digital, an ETH Zurich and HSG spinout building agentic AI for ERP automation across finance, procurement, logistics, sales, and other enterprise functions. Our solution operates in more than 40 countries, serves over 550 customers, and automates more than 70,000 processes daily. As a fast-growing Swiss SaaS scaleup backed by Goldman Sachs Alternatives, we are expanding into the UK with a new London office. Our Platform Team builds the shared services, APIs, data access layer, and component and design systems that support our product teams. This fullstack engineering role has a strong backend focus and will help shape the platform as we extend its ownership deeper into the stack. Our technology stack includes Golang, React/TypeScript, Python, machine-learning models, MySQL, F#, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and GitHub CI/CD. The role is available on-site in Zurich, London, or Barcelona, or remotely within Europe.
