Salary: £63,000 - 103,000 per year
Requirements: 5 or more years of commercial software development experience, including experience with enterprise architectures such as Salesforce or NetSuite.Deep proficiency in computer science fundamentals, including system design, data modeling, and security design patterns.Strong technical judgment to rigorously audit AI-generated code for performance, edge cases, and architectural integrity before deployment.Ability to navigate ambiguity, build alignment, and deliver scalable technical solutions from high-level operational concepts.Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical industry experience.Experience designing defensive system architectures with error handling, auditability, and observability, particularly where manual operational intervention may be required.Collaborative approach that balances low-code platform speed with traditional software engineering rigor, bridging out-of-the-box configuration and custom code. Responsibilities: Architect and deliver production-grade code across Apex, LWC, SuiteScript, and middleware solutions while enforcing architecture and security standards.Engineer automation pipelines and resilient API integrations across Salesforce, NetSuite, and core enterprise systems.Turn stakeholder feedback into iterative system improvements and product roadmap contributions.Establish and enforce technical standards, security guardrails, and code reviews, ensuring deliverables are production-ready.Maintain architecture and technical documentation to support long-term maintainability, scalability, and knowledge transfer.Engineer and own subscription and entitlement engines, including proration, true-forward calculations, and co-term renewal cycles across Salesforce, NetSuite, and the Pulse platform.Translate commercial policies into technical logic in partnership with Finance, Sales Operations, and Customer Success. We are hiring a Business Systems Software Engineer for Neats Business Systems team, which supports the infrastructure behind how we sell, bill, and support customers, including Salesforce, NetSuite, and related integrations. The small team supports roughly 400 internal users. This role will help shift the team toward software-engineering-focused practices and give you influence over our technical architecture, development operations, and long-term engineering strategy. You will build and maintain solutions across our systems, with initial projects focused on a skill-based quoting agent and a subscription and entitlement engine for the Pulse commercial framework. We are hiring in the UK, ideally for an on-site role in Cambridge, or on the US East Coast for a remote position. The salary range is $120,000–$160,000 in the US or approximately £100,000 in the UK.
