Salary: £60,000 - 80,000 per year
Requirements: 5+ years of strong full-stack engineering experience with TypeScript/JavaScript (ES6+).Solid experience with React and reactive state management such as RX or MobX.Working ability in Rust; if still developing, a strong record of quickly learning new languages in depth is essential.Strong understanding of distributed systems, API design, and real-time data, including REST, WebSockets, TCP/UDP, and binary protocols.Ability to reason about architecture and make defensible technical trade-offs.Git and Linux fundamentals.Python scripting, automation, and tooling experience is a bonus.Experience in financial services or trading technology is a plus, but not essential.Delivery-focused, able to drive ambiguous and complex work to completion independently, and comfortable taking responsibility for production behavior and incidents. A 15-minute incident acknowledgement SLA applies during working hours.Able to review work thoughtfully, mentor colleagues, document knowledge, and communicate clearly and proactively across a distributed, multi-time-zone team.Curious and willing to learn to use AI tools in engineering work.Existing right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available for this role. Responsibilities: Build complex full-stack features in TypeScript and Rust, from trader-facing interfaces to application services.Develop real-time market-data presentation and high-throughput, low-latency application code across FX, Equities, and Cryptocurrency.Build demanding, data-dense trading interfaces using React and reactive state management.Work with distributed systems and real-time data over REST, WebSockets, and network protocols.Lead architecture and solution design for the teams most challenging technical problems.Improve observability and monitoring through dashboards, alerting, and metrics.Own complex, performance-critical work end-to-end: design, build, test, deploy, and support it in production.Investigate and resolve production issues, respond to incidents, and support production releases and scheduled maintenance when required.Review peers work, mentor engineers, and contribute to technical standards and documentation. We are hiring a senior individual contributor for a full-time, remote role based in the UK. Our small, senior engineering team builds high-performance, reliable trading systems; the Frontend team works across the application stack in TypeScript and Rust, distinct from our Backend team, which owns the low-latency C++/Go trading engine.
