Requirements: Were looking for at least five years of software engineering experience, including three years at senior level, building front ends for content-driven or marketing platforms.Were looking for hands-on ownership of a content model in Sanity, including experience designing schemas, and familiarity with GROQ and Portable Text.Were looking for deep front-end expertise, including expert HTML, CSS and TypeScript skills, strong component API design, and experience with the developer experience of a shared library.Were looking for someone comfortable working end to end across front end and server side, including SSR, serverless and edge runtimes, API routes, SQL databases, secrets and CI. You should be able to take a feature from schema to component to route without a handoff, and debug issues that occur in production.Were looking for a solid understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility and web performance, and the ability to build to WCAG 2.2 AA. Accessibility should be part of your definition of done.Were looking for someone who cares about measuring marketing sites across performance, SEO, analytics events and conversion, and is comfortable being accountable to those measures.Were looking for strong craft, attention to detail, and the judgement to balance design intent with engineering constraints.Were looking for strong communication and collaboration skills, including explaining your reasoning, reviewing generously, and helping others develop.Helpful experience includes working on a large, high-traffic SaaS marketing website; Astro or another islands or static-site framework; Cloudflare Workers or another edge or serverless platform; AWS Lambda; Tailwind CSS v4 and token-based design systems; making component libraries and content models usable by AI agents; design sensibility; localisation and internationalisation at scale; and analytics and tag management implementation, including dataLayer events, server-side tagging and attribution. Responsibilities: Build, scale and evolve our section library, including Astro components, Sanity schemas and design tokens, so marketing pages can be composed consistently and accessibly.Own our content model and design schemas that help editors and agents build correct pages by construction.Take Figma component specifications through to production, making them responsive across mobile, tablet and desktop, accessible by default, and faithful to the design intent.Extend our platform for AI-assisted development so coding agents can generate on-brand, on-spec sections from design specifications.Own SEO integrity, including canonicals, sitemaps, structured data and redirects, and help prevent traffic drops during launches.Raise engineering standards across our website through thorough code review, reusable patterns and tests focused on areas that can break.Maintain and extend localisation across nine locales and our translation pipeline.Shape the technical direction of our website platform over the next 6 to 12 months and champion adoption among the people who publish on it. As a Senior Frontend Engineer on our Website team, youll co-own the platform behind synthesia.io, a key way we reach new customers, with millions of visitors each month. The role is hands-on, with high-quality component and schema code and tools for others as its primary outputs. Our central challenge is making the marketing site composable for marketers and AI agents without compromising design, performance or SEO.
