Salary: £70,000 - 110,000 per year
Requirements: Strong hands-on experience administering and supporting Red Hat OpenShift.Strong understanding of Kubernetes concepts and operations.Experience with container technologies, including Docker, container images and container registries.Experience supporting production application platforms and resolving complex technical issues.Experience with build pipelines, deployment tooling and release processes.Strong Linux administration experience, preferably in RHEL-based environments.Experience with monitoring, logging and operational support tooling.Experience identifying and remediating platform and container vulnerabilities.Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.Experience producing operational and technical documentation.Ability to work effectively in secure and regulated environments.Desirable experience with Java application hosting environments, Apache Tomcat, Red Hat JBoss Web Server (JWS), container platform modernisation, runtime upgrades, dependency remediation, infrastructure automation and configuration management, and defence, aerospace, government or other highly regulated sectors.Experience operating in Security Cleared environments is desirable.Were looking for someone self-sufficient who can work with minimal supervision, with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder engagement skills. We are seeking an experienced Senior OpenShift Platform Engineer to support and modernise enterprise container platforms hosting business-critical applications in a secure defence environment. This hands-on engineering role covers platform support, container management, deployment automation, runtime engineering, vulnerability remediation, monitoring, operational resilience and technical troubleshooting. Youll work with client and supplier teams across on-premise, hosted and secure infrastructure environments, rather than exclusively public cloud platforms. The salary range is £70,000–£80,000. The role can begin part-time and increase to full-time as required, with regular onsite presence in Bristol or Milton Keynes.
