About this role

Salary: £42,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements: At least 5 years of experience designing and installing ELV technology systems for large-scale industrial or commercial projects with complex technology needs; data center experience is preferred.Experience supporting hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data center programs.Experience designing mission-critical facilities beyond cabling, including coordination with security, AV, or related low-voltage systems.Experience with BIM coordination and multidisciplinary, model-based design workflows.RCDD certification; DCDC certification is preferred.Experience in the engineering, architecture, or construction industry.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, remote task assignment software, agile sprint-based team structures, and remote collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Webex, or Zoom.Experience with design markup tools such as Visio and Bluebeam, and with AutoCAD and/or Revit.Ability to support projects across geographic locations and time zones.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills when working with clients, stakeholders, colleagues, and remote team members.An energetic, diplomatic, flexible, and solutions-focused approach; strong organizational and prioritization skills; and the ability to take initiative.Expertise in structured cabling system infrastructure.Familiarity with network and server architecture, wireless access points, distributed antenna systems, technical security systems, intercommunication, public address and emergency call systems, audio-visual systems, building management systems, and building IoT. Responsibilities: Design ELV systems, including ICT, audio-visual, security, and structured cabling solutions.Lead ICT and structured cabling design for hyperscale data center and mission-critical projects, from planning through detailed design and construction support.Develop design criteria, narratives, layouts, and construction documents for telecommunications and equipment rooms, distribution systems, cabling, pathways, and cable trays.Apply relevant codes, standards, and guidelines, including ISO/IEC, EN, BICSI, and ANSI/TIA standards.Write system specifications and functional narratives using EN Series, ISO/IEC, and MasterFormat templates, particularly Divisions 27 and 28; Division 25 experience is also useful.Coordinate with Revit/CAD teams to produce technical design and construction drawings, and use tools such as Navisworks to resolve model conflicts.Review design drawings and specifications, guide development of engineering drawings, and assess technology equipment for suitability in design solutions.Coordinate with internal and external electrical, mechanical, and architectural consultants to support integrated project delivery.Attend and lead client and design-team meetings and workshops, and document meeting outcomes.Develop budgetary implementation costs and provide construction-stage administration, including site reviews and reports.Support business development and client relationships through proposals, technical approaches, and project scoping.Coordinate with and train junior team members.
