About this role

Salary: £65,000 - 105,000 per year

Requirements: 10+ years of hands-on experience building enterprise applications.Expert-level proficiency in Java/Spring Boot and/or C#/.NET, with good familiarity with Python, React, and modern web technologies in production environments.Proven ability to design maintainable, scalable systems, with strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms, and the ability to make architectural decisions and take responsibility for their consequences.Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Exceptional analytical skills, curiosity about emerging technologies, a record of experimentation and learning from failures, and comfort with ambiguity and differing perspectives.Proven success collaborating with cross-functional teams, communicating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, and navigating organizational dynamics with emotional intelligence.Experience with Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, cloud technologies, microservices, and cloud-native architecture would be an advantage.Genuine interest in AI/ML, generative AI, or intelligent automation, including experimenting with emerging technologies and evaluating practical applications, would be an advantage.Experience with analytical workflows, regulatory processes, financial products, credit ratings, or technology-enabled decision-making would be an advantage.A record of establishing Agile practices, constructively challenging established patterns, and creating space for teams to innovate and take calculated risks would be an advantage. Responsibilities: Design and build robust, scalable full-stack applications using Java/Spring Boot, C#/.NET, Python, and React.Drive architectural decisions, establish technical standards, and lead exploration of AI/ML integration opportunities that can transform workflows.Advise product managers, analysts, and senior stakeholders on technical matters; mentor engineers; facilitate technical discussions; and foster experimentation, learning, and psychological safety.Challenge existing approaches, champion better solutions, experiment with emerging technologies, and develop proofs of concept.Implement CI/CD pipelines, conduct architecture reviews, address complex performance and scalability challenges, and establish engineering best practices across teams.Influence team processes and lead strategic technical initiatives spanning multiple teams.Troubleshoot complex issues, maintain system performance at scale, balance strategic priorities, and deliver in fast-paced Agile environments.
