About this role

Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. Description:

Responsibilities:

• Determine the eligibility of scheduled patients, 1 week to 1 day prior to patients' scheduled appointments.

• Complete documentation in EPIC, Medicare Preventative Wellness Exam.

• Must access patients' charts in CERNER eCW and EPIC for Imagining, Labs, Vaccinations, documents in eCW. Charts are accessed for both review and updating date. Must also access scheduling in EPIC.

• Call patients to ask questions and document answers in the Medicare Preventative Wellness Exam.

• If Specialist is unable to reach patient, all of the above documentation is completed in advance, but rooming MA must ask patient questions and document answers at the time of triage.

• Demonstrates proficiency in office equipment and software programs used in practice, including EMR, multi-function printers, etc.

• Participates proactively in problem solving and process improvement activities through collaboration with clinical and clerical teams using Evidence Based Practices.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Individual must be able to perform basic clerical functions.

• Requires ability to comprehend medical terminology.

• Six months to one-year related experience and/or training.
