Are you passionate about science and education? We are currently seeking to appoint a keen and enthusiastic Science Technician to join our team. As a key member of the Science Faculty, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of high-quality science education to our students. This position involves working across KS3, KS4 and KS5 including GCSE, A level and BTEC A level classes, covering all science disciplines.
The responsibilities of the role include:
the preparation and maintenance of stock solutions and apparatus for lessons and experiments, ensuring they meet the needs of the science curriculumthe provision of technical help, preparation of materials, media and cultures for individual students during special investigation assignmentssupervision, secure safekeeping and preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment, adhering to health and safety standardsthe provision of assistance with photocopying and reprographic duties relating to lessons, cover and examinationThe ideal candidate will have:
a relevant science-based qualificationknowledge of health and safety regulations in a laboratory settingexcellent organisational and communication skillsthe ability to work effectively in a teamPrevious experience of working in a similar role within a school is desirable.
