QTS (or equivalent) and a good undergraduate degreeEvidence of Continuing Professional Development relevant to the SENCO role or willingness to undertake this training.Knowledge and understanding of national priorities, current curriculum development and an ability to design and implement an innovative curriculum based on students' needsA thorough understanding of quality assurance techniquesAn appreciation of student motivationAn understanding of how professional development contributes to the raising of qualitySEN experience in a secondary schoolEvidence of successful teaching experienceEvidence of pastoral experienceExperience of working with key stakeholders such as parents, governors and employer
