Experience of working with or caring for primary-aged children.Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.Understanding of the importance of maintaining appropriate professional boundaries with pupils.Ability to build positive, respectful and appropriate relationships with children.Ability to promote positive behaviour and manage minor incidents calmly and fairly.Ability to supervise groups of children effectively and maintain a safe environment.Good communication skills with both children and adults.Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from senior staff.Ability to recognise concerns and know when they should be reported or escalated.Ability to treat all pupils fairly, consistently and with respect.Awareness of the differing needs of pupils, including those with SEND.Reliable, punctual and able to work consistently during the lunchtime period.Willingness to undertake safeguarding, first aid and other relevant training.Ability to follow school policies, procedures and the Staff Code of Conduct.Able to carry out the practical requirements of the role, including supervising children indoors and outdoors.
