About this role

We are seeking an exceptional teacher to join Kings Norton Girls’ School and Sixth Form (KNGS) as our Design Technology/Resistant Materials Teacher. KNGS is an Ofsted Outstanding school and part of the West Midlands Multi Academy Trust. We have a comprehensive intake and a co-educational sixth form. The post is available from January 2027 on a full time, permanent basis (main or upper salary range).

The post has arisen due to the retirement of the current postholder. Design Technology/Resistant Materials sits within the arts faculty, a well-established, dedicated and experienced team who work collaboratively to achieve the best outcomes for our students. We are seeking an effective and ambitious classroom practitioner who is committed to continually improving students’ experiences and attainment. The successful candidate will teach Design Technology/Resistant Materials at KS3 and KS4 and will take day-to-day responsibility for the development of the subject within the arts faculty. The postholder will work closely with the Arts Faculty Leader and will be responsible for the effective delivery of Design Technology, including curriculum development, ordering and managing resources, ensuring workshop machinery and equipment are appropriately maintained and serviced, and will work closely with our part-time D&T technician.
