CONSULTANT LEAD (THORACIC)NATIONAL IMAGING ACADEMY WALES
Applications are invited for the position of Consultant Trainer (THORACIC ) to support the delivery of training, at the National Imaging Academy Wales (NIAW).
The successful applicant will be engaged for one sessions per week at the Academy. The National Imaging Academy Wales is an innovative and developing facility that aims to enhance training capacity and support the safe integration of digital technologies across Wales.
NIAW is located near Pencoed, South Wales. The Academy provides excellent facilities, including a 100-seat lecture theatre, two workstation-based teaching classrooms, dedicated digital training suites, ultrasound and POCUS simulation facilities, and state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment to support high-quality teaching, research, and service evaluation.
We are seeking an individual with demonstrable expertise and interest in THORACIC Radiology , to lead in the delivery of high-quality education and training at the Academy site. The post will complement and enhance THORACIC training across Welsh hospital sites. Consultants with experience in this area, are encouraged to apply and become part of this exciting development. Contribute to the leadership of training at the Academy

Direct training including teaching, including image interpretation and report checking

Contributing to teaching undergraduate medical training
Contributing to education and training of non-radiology clinicians and allied health professionals
Participating in and leading research, innovation and evaluation activities facilitated at the Academy, including the assessment and evaluation of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and their potential application within radiology education and clinical practice
Contribute to courses and conferences hosted at the Academy
Contribute to developments for NHS Wales Diagnostic Services, such as workforce planning or developing sonographer training
Participating in research and innovation facilitated at the Academy

Education/ Qualifications & Training MB BCh or equivalent. Post Graduate Diploma, e.g. FRCR, MRCP At time of interview, the candidate must be: -on the Specialist Register. -or have a primary medical qualification and recognised specialist qualification from an EEA country or Switzerland which will allow direct entry onto the Specialist Register. Experience and enthusiasm for teaching and training of Nuclear Medicine Current/recent role in training. Ability to deliver required subspecialty training. To perform to GMC standards Promoting Excellence: Standards for medical and education training, GMC 2016Other special interest in a relevant area of clinical practice.
