A fantasctic opportunity has arisen within the Vascular Surgery Network.

We cover a a network based at Southmead Hospital yet manage services in Weston, Bath and Bristol.

The role is for an assistant patient pathway co-ordinator working 37.5 hours per week across Monday -Friday.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Vascular Department to join the admin team as an Assistant Patient Pathway Co-ordinator for the Vascular Network . This is a great opportunity for someone with administration skills to take the next step with their development.

Our admin team cover the Vascular Network for Bristol, Bath and Weston but are based at, Southmead Hospital.

The role will be based at Southmead Hospital 37.5 hours per week.

Job description Job responsibilities

The Vascular Patient Pathway Assistant role is tosupport the Patient Pathway Coordinator in working as part of a clinical team ensuring that patients are admitted efficiently for investigative treatments, diagnostic procedures and inpatient and day-case operations within national guidelines and in accordance with the trusts Patients Access Policy. This includes: NHS Constitution, waiting time standards; Department of Health admission guidelines and booking rules.

Person Specification

Education/Training/Qualifications Essential

Good general education including GSCE in Maths or English (or equivalent) Advanced keyboard and computer skills (Microsoft office)

Desirable

Patient Administration System (PAS) training

Work Experience Essential

Experience in NHS or similar organisation Experience of working under pressure Experience of working as part of a team in a multi-disciplinary environment. Database experience Knowledge of patient pathway

Desirable

Experience of supervising a team

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Essential

Excellent written/verbal communication skills Excellent customer care skills. Ability to work using own initiative with excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail The ability to work under pressure, within a stressful environment, prioritise own workload and work to tight deadlines Ability to exercise judgement and take responsibility for actions Able to promote good working relationships amongst team, colleagues and clinical staff Willingness and ability to learn new IT skills and technology
