We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Clinical Lead to join our SMS team at HMP Leicester, a category B Prison located in Leicestershire

HMP Leicester is a male prison with a capacity of approximately 320 prisoners. It is a busy but relatively small local remand prison, located in the city centre. The SMS Clinical Lead will provide clinical leadership and support to a small team, delivering high-quality, person-centred care to patients with drug and alcohol-related needs. The role requires experience within SMS including managing a caseload of patients with complex drug and alcohol issues. Monday - Friday 37.5 hours per week 8am - 4pm Will consider part time hours minimum of 28 hours Salary

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary is between £51,643 - £58,012 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Substance Misuse Clinical Lead, your responsibilities will vary. You will

Provide substance misuse clinical leadership and management to the registered nurses and care teams. Deputise on behalf of the Deputy/Head of Healthcare when required. Work closely with partners to maintain a robust, high quality clinical service for patients. Ensure that own clinical practice is consistent with autonomous practice within the role. Model a culture of compassion, care, courage, commitment, communication and competence. Clinical Lead you will coach, line manage and develop clinician staff; support and contribute in undertaking audits and governance and contribute to developing and reviewing clinical/non clinical Local Operating Protocols for the site. Chair and facilitate specific healthcare meetings with the team and different partners, provide clinical supervision (training available) and carry our investigations locally and for the wider region. Registered Nurse Adult Current professional qualification (NMC) Evidence of Continued Professional Development Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working A non-medical prescribing qualification is desirable. Previous experience within a community or prison setting would be desirable Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
