About this role

Job summary

Trust Grade Doctor (FY2 - CT LEVEL) post to commence in any of the following specialtiesRespiratoryUniversity Hospitals of Leicester has a streamed cardio-respiratory emergency take. Respiratory Medicine runs the Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU). Glenfield Hospital has a national and international reputation for both clinical and basic science research in Respiratory Medicine. Respiratory Medicine also has a large teaching portfolio and the post holders will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate training.

This post will rotate through CDU and Respiratory wards through out the 6 month contract reviewing patients identified as Respiratory

Main duties of the job

1. Liaise between nurses, Doctors, patients, relatives and senior medical staff.2. Attend and participate in ward rounds as timetabled3. Take part in rostered emergency work.4. Dictate discharge summaries.5. Attend weekly educational and multidisciplinary sessions.6. Teach medical students as directed.7. Co-operate with members of the personnel department when monitoring hours of work and other personnel issues.8. Attend induction in each hospital or new department9. Comply with all local policies including dress code, annual and study leave

Person Specification

Training & Qualifications Essential

Full GMC registration with a license to practice. 6 Months NHS working experiance

Working towards MRCP (UK)

Commitment to an understanding of the principles of audit. Good communication skills.

Practical experience of participation in clinical audit projects.
