Job summary
We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and forward-thinking midwife to play a key role in strengthening clinical governance and patient safety within maternity and gynaecology. This is an exciting opportunity to shape high-quality care through robust audit, guideline development, and collaborative improvement work.
You will have strong organisational skills, a passion for patient safety, and the ability to influence and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Experience in clinical audit, guideline development, or quality improvement within a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
Main duties of the job
o The Audit and Guideline Midwife will provide clinical leadership for the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of maternity and gynaecology audits, clinical guidelines and quality improvement activities across maternity services.
o The post holder will lead and coordinate programmes of clinical audit to ensure compliance with national standards, regulatory requirements, commissioned services and local quality improvement priorities. They will ensure maternity and Gynaecology policies and guidelines remain evidence-based, current, accessible and compliant with national recommendations and best practice.

Knowledge & experience Essential
Significant Midwifery experience in all clinical areas. Experience of working across professions and liaison. With the MDT Sound knowledge of current professional issues in Midwifery and health provision Evidence of involvement in audit cycles and reviewing practice. Understanding and experience of guideline development
Desirable
Previous experience co-ordinating and chairing multidisciplinary meetings.
