About this role
Job summary
Applications are invited for a Neurocritical Care Research Fellow post at The Royal London Hospital (RLH), part of Barts Health NHS Trust, commencing August 2027 for 12 months in the first instance.
Main duties of the job
This is a superb opportunity for an ST4+ trainee (or equivalent) with an interest in neurocritical care to join one of London's busiest critical care units and contribute directly to an active programme of neurocritical care research. The post-holder will have dedicated time to support ongoing studies on the unit, working alongside clinical and academic colleagues, while maintaining clinical duties across our 44-bed general ICU/HDU on the 4th floor.
RLH is a tertiary referral centre for Neurology, Stroke Medicine and major trauma, and is the base hospital for London's HEMS service, giving fellows exposure to a rich and varied neurocritical care caseload. Candidates should have a minimum of two years' anaesthetic or critical care experience and a genuine interest in developing a research portfolio in this field.
This post suits a trainee looking to combine high-quality clinical training with meaningful research experience ahead of a career in critical care or neurointensive care medicine.
