We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Specialist CAMHS Practitioner with a relevant qualification (Nurse, Family Therapist, Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, CBT Therapist, Psychotherapist) with therapeutic training and experience. We welcome applicants who enjoy working effectively as part of a team, have competencies in working with families from diverse cultures and ethnicities, and have a commitment to delivering high quality, evidence based practice.
The successful candidate will join a stimulating and supportive multidisciplinary Emotional and Behavioural team (E&B) within Specialist CAMHS. You will have a varied caseload and provide brief treatment for often co-occurring emotional and behavioural difficulties and cases presenting with complexity and risk. You will be supported by a team consisting of highly experienced and skilled clinicians. We actively work with network colleagues to support our clients.
Main duties of the job
The E&B team works with young people across the age range with a wide range of presentations from moderate to severe mental illness, including those who have experienced trauma and abuse and those presenting with suicidality and self-harm. The E&B teams are composed of a mix of disciplines including Clinical Psychology, Systemic Family Therapy, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Mental Health Nursing, Creative Therapy and Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy. There is a broad range of therapy groups offered and the post holder would be supported and encouraged to develop skills in group work, alongside individual clinical work.

City and Hackney specialist CAMHS is a large and vibrant specialist child and adolescent mental health service with a reputation for innovation and flexibility in meeting the complex mental health support needs of City and Hackney's children, young people and families. It provides an extensive and growing range of services including multi-disciplinary specialist teams such as the Emotional & Behavioural Team, Adolescent Mental Health Team, Paediatric Liaison Team, Neurodevelopmental Team, Behaviour Support and Outreach Team and embedded clinicians in local schools. There is a broad spectrum of disciplines and a long tradition of effective multidisciplinary and interagency working.

Degree level study or equivalent / Further post degree qualification including - Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy, Clinical or Counselling Psychology, Mental Health Nursing, Creative Therapies, Family & Systemic Psychotherapy, Current Registration with appropriate professional body

oQualifications/ training in specialist skills e.g. systemic therapies, neuropsychology, MBT training, ADOS training, trauma therapies
