Goodenough College is recruiting an experienced Alumni Manager to lead the delivery of the College’s Alumni Engagement strategy during a period of maternity cover. The role will help build a connected global alumni community, strengthen the College’s profile, support the recruitment of new Members, develop the Member programme and create opportunities for philanthropy.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement the Alumni Engagement strategy in partnership with the Director of Philanthropy and Alumni Relations. Create an integrated supporter marketing activity to recruit, retain and reactivate alumni worldwide. Build and support an international network of Alumni Ambassadors. Plan, promote and deliver an annual programme of alumni events in the UK and internationally, including Director’s Tours. Maintain regular, personalised contact with key alumni through meetings, email and telephone. Lead digital marketing, communications and content that celebrate alumni success and enhance the College’s reputation. Implement and develop the College’s alumni engagement platform, including volunteering opportunities and an alumni directory. Work with the Executive Team, Trustees and other stakeholders to identify networking and partnership opportunities. Monitor agreed metrics and report on performance against alumni engagement KPIs. Line manage the Philanthropy and Alumni Relations Assistant and oversee the Alumni Engagement budget. Contribute to wider planning and reporting, including preparation for Development and Fundraising Committee meetings.
About You
You will have experience of delivering engagement, membership, supporter or alumni programmes. You will be comfortable developing communications and events for varied audiences, managing senior stakeholders, tracking performance and providing excellent customer service. Strong organisation, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential. Experience of digital engagement platforms, people management and budget oversight would be particularly valuable.
About Us
The College is an educational charity, providing accommodation to international postgraduate students (we call them Members) and their families in a friendly and collegiate setting on two sites across a picturesque London Square. The College offers a variety of accommodation options from shared single rooms, ensuite rooms and family flats, alongside grand halls, libraries, and common rooms.
Additionally, the College owns and carries out commercial activities through the nearby 4* Goodenough Hotel. The Hotel’s income makes a financial contribution to the charitable activities of the College to encourage and assist the education of our Members.
The College also owns a Scottish retreat, The Burn, a 20-bedroomed Mansion House, Listed Grade B operating mainly as an academic retreat for post-graduates, hired out for private bookings, family celebrations and offered as holiday accommodation.
Additional Information
The role is flexible and may be considered on either a full-time or part-time basis. It is not fully remote, and some onsite presence is required. Hybrid working may be available by agreement with the line manager.
How to apply
The College is offering a salary of £46,000 per annum, 25 days’ annual leave, additional two days at Christmas and a free meal when working on site.
