About this role

Lead and deliver mine geology projects to support production and resource growth • Drive geological interpretation, grade control, and orebody knowledge across Gruyere operations • Support safe and efficient open-pit mining through high-quality geological data and technical expertise • FIFO from Perth | 8/6 roster at Gruyere. Tertiary qualification in Geology or related discipline require The Opportunity: In this role, you will take ownership of key geology projects across the Gruyere Gold Mine, supporting safe and efficient open-pit ore extraction while contributing to resource growth and operational success. You will play a critical role in geological interpretation, grade control, reconciliation, and mentoring geologists, while collaborating closely with mining and technical services teams in a high-performing environment. Why Join Gold Fields? • Permanent role with a leading gold producer • 6% site allowance and quarterly bonus up to 10% annually • Monthly private health allowance • Minimum of 5 weeks annual leave, dependent on roster • 18 weeks parental leave • FIFO parking discount & Virgin Velocity reward points • $10K employee referral bonus About the Role • Lead mine geology projects supporting safe and efficient open-pit production outcomes • Conduct geological interpretation, orebody modelling, and grade control activities • Monitor and reconcile production performance against geological models • Oversee grade control RC drilling from pattern design through to sampling and QAQC, ensuring safe, efficient delivery that underpins reliable ore/waste delineation • Plan, manage and supervise diamond drilling programs to deliver high-quality geological data that drives resource growth and conversion • Ensure QAQC protocols are maintained across sampling and geological data collection • Collaborate with mining, planning, and technical services teams to optimise ore recovery and minimise dilution Skills & Qualifications • Tertiary qualification in Geology or related discipline • Proven experience in open-pit mine geology, ideally within gold operations • Strong capability in geological interpretation, grade control, mapping and ore mark-up • Experience with open-pit production environments and reconciliation processes • Strong understanding of sampling, QAQC and geological data management • Ability to mentor junior geologists and contribute to team capability • Current manual driver’s licence Applications can be submitted via: https://careers.goldfields.com/Australia At Gold Fields, we are committed to creating a workplace where people feel respected, supported, and able to do their best work, working together to deliver enduring value beyond mining.
