The Opportunity
• Lead and oversee all aspects of clinical trials and research studies from startup through closeout, ensuring milestones, timelines, and budgets are met. • Oversee participant recruitment, screening, and enrollment strategies to meet study accrual targets. • Oversee the informed consent process and ensure adherence to ethical guidelines, IRB requirements, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP). • Direct the accurate collection, recording, and management of study data during participant visits. • Oversee clinical research procedures (e.g., blood sampling, vital sign measurement, ECGs, and sleep-related assessments) performed within scope and protocol. • Develop, implement, and maintain study protocols, standard operating procedures, and workflows for the sleep medicine research program. • Serve as the primary liaison between the research team, principal investigators, and the medical director for study execution. • Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate clinical research staff on study protocols, procedures, and regulatory requirements. • Manage staffing, scheduling, workload assignment, and productivity across the clinical research team. • Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators for enrollment, data quality, and study progress. • Manage research operations, including space, equipment, supplies, and study-related budgets. • Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement within the research team. • Serve as the escalation point for operational, protocol, and participant issues. • Coordinate day-to-day research operations to support the sleep medicine service line and its continued growth. • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, sponsor, and institutional regulatory standards and guidelines (FDA, OHRP, ICH-GCP, and HIPAA). • Oversee accurate, complete, and up-to-date documentation of all study activities and regulatory records. • Prepare for and support internal and external audits, sponsor monitoring visits, and regulatory inspections. • Oversee data management and the use of statistical and electronic data capture (EDC) software to ensure data integrity and timely reporting. • Collaborate with investigators, sponsors, CROs, and other stakeholders to ensure successful study implementation. • Manage IRB submissions, renewals, amendments, and adverse event reporting. • Identify and pursue new research opportunities and evaluate study feasibility in partnership with leadership. • Maintain the confidentiality and protection of participant information in accordance with HIPAA and Privacy Policies Required Experience and Competencies
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, biology, life sciences, or a related healthcare field or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field required. • Current CPR/BLS certification required. • Phlebotomy certification required. • Minimum of 5 years of clinical research experience, including at least 2 years in a lead, coordinator, or supervisory role required. • Working knowledge of clinical trial processes, ICH-GCP, and FDA and other applicable regulatory requirements required. • Experience in sleep medicine, pulmonary, or neurology clinical research. • Clinical research certification (e.g., ACRP CCRC/CCRP or SOCRA CCRP). • Master’s degree in a healthcare, life sciences, or clinical research field. • Strong leadership, staff supervision, and team development skills. • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical laboratory procedures. • Excellent knowledge of clinical trial processes and regulations. • Proficiency with statistical and electronic data capture (EDC) software for data analysis and management. • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and documentation. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to uphold HIPAA regulations and maintain participant confidentiality. • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with investigators, sponsors, CROs, and regulatory bodies The Practice Ohio Sleep Medicine Institute – Dublin, Ohio
