Job Title: PainterJob DescriptionThis role focuses on repainting warehouse floor stripes and safety markings, ensuring clean, precise lines and a well-prepared surface. You carefully tape off designated areas, thoroughly clean the floor before painting, and apply paint in a neat, controlled manner. The work begins with red safety zones around equipment such as fire extinguishers, followed by yellow lines and potentially the full warehouse floor if performance meets expectations. Responsibilities • Prepare warehouse floor surfaces for painting by thoroughly cleaning and removing debris, dust, and any contaminants. • Accurately tape off floor areas to define stripes, safety zones, and other markings according to provided layouts and specifications. • Apply paint in a neat and controlled manner, maintaining straight, square lines and consistent coverage across all designated areas. • Repaint red floor markings around safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers, ensuring visibility and adherence to safety guidelines. • Progress to painting yellow lines and other floor striping as the project advances, maintaining high quality and precision. • Prevent splashing or spilling of paint and immediately clean any accidental drips or marks to keep the work area orderly. • Maintain a clean and organized work environment throughout the project, including proper handling of tools, tape, and paint materials. • Inspect completed work for accuracy, straightness, and cleanliness, making touch-ups or corrections as needed. • Follow project timelines and adapt to occasional weekend work when required to complete painting tasks on schedule. • Collaborate with on-site personnel to coordinate access to work areas and ensure minimal disruption to warehouse operations. Essential Skills • Proven painting experience in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce straight, square lines and consistent paint application. • Ability to tape off floors accurately to create clean edges and well-defined stripes and markings. • Capability to thoroughly clean and prepare floor surfaces prior to painting. • Skill in working neatly, avoiding paint splashes and spills, and maintaining a clean work area. • Comfort working in a warehouse environment for extended shifts. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience with floor striping or safety line painting in industrial or warehouse environments. • Familiarity with basic general labor tasks related to painting projects, such as moving materials and setting up work areas. • Ability to follow visual layouts, instructions, and safety guidelines for marking warehouse floors. • Reliability and flexibility to work occasional weekends to meet project deadlines. Expect a practical, hands-on atmosphere where appropriate work attire is needed for painting tasks, including clothing suitable for manual labor and exposure to paint. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and maintaining a clean workspace throughout each project. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Metairie, LA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
