About this role

Job Title: Medical Device Production TechnicianJob DescriptionThis role focuses on producing high-quality medical devices in a predominantly cleanroom environment. You will work with polymers and spray coating formulations, operate specialized machinery and microscopes, and handle both sterile and non-sterile products while following strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). The position requires comfort with standing for the entire shift, working with chemicals, and supporting production demands through overtime when needed. Responsibilities • Operate coating machines and other production equipment to manufacture medical devices according to specifications. • Formulate polymers, excipient formulations, and spray coating solutions following established procedures. • Coat, inspect, and fold balloon catheters with high attention to detail and product quality. • Perform product inspection using a microscope to ensure devices meet quality standards. • Follow manufacturing instructions precisely and update all relevant job documentation accurately for full traceability. • Prepare products for packing and sterilization, including both sterile and non-sterile finished goods and semi-finished goods. • Package sterile and non-sterile medical devices in accordance with GMP and cleanroom requirements. • Identify and report supplies that need to be replenished to maintain continuous production flow. • Build components required for top-level work orders and ensure they are assembled correctly. • Complete cleaning activities as required to maintain a safe, compliant, and organized cleanroom environment. • Comply with all GMPs, cleanroom protocols, and safety procedures, including proper handling of chemicals. • Work overtime and on weekends as needed to support high production demand. Essential Skills • High school diploma or equivalent education. • At least 1 year of experience in the medical device industry. • Experience in medical device manufacturing, ideally including microscope-based work. • Proficiency in English at a medium level, with the ability to read and follow manufacturing instructions and document work accurately. • Comfort standing for the entire shift in a production environment. • Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required. • Familiarity with cleanroom procedures, including gowning and de-gowning. • Ability to work safely and comfortably with chemicals. • Experience operating machinery and equipment in a production or manufacturing setting. • Ability to follow GMP guidelines and standard operating procedures consistently. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with microscope inspection of products in a cleanroom environment. • Background in pharmaceutical, aseptic, or formulation work. • Previous experience with assembly of medical devices or similar precision products. • Strong attention to detail and quality in handling sterile and non-sterile products. • Ability to maintain accurate documentation for traceability and regulatory compliance. Work EnvironmentThis position is based primarily in a cleanroom environment that follows strict gowning and de-gowning procedures and GMP standards. You will work with medical devices, polymers, spray coating formulations, and chemicals while operating machinery and microscopes. The role requires standing for the entire shift. The schedule includes two 30-minute breaks per shift: one unpaid lunch break and one paid break, instead of shorter breaks. Work hours may include overtime and weekends during busy periods, and you will adhere to cleanroom attire requirements appropriate for aseptic and sterile production activities. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irvine, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
