Job Title: ClerkJob DescriptionThe Clerk provides front-line support in a service center environment by welcoming customers, understanding their service and repair needs, preparing accurate repair quotes, and entering orders into the company database. This role also supports inventory control, parts sorting for shipment, and efficient communication within the team to ensure a smooth and professional customer experience.Responsibilities
• Welcome customers to the service center and create a friendly, professional first impression. • Meet with customers to understand their service and repair needs for equipment and machinery. • Prepare and present accurate repair quotes based on identified service requirements. • Enter customer orders and service information into the company database with a high level of accuracy. • Use Microsoft programs to manage documentation, track orders, and support daily administrative tasks. • Sort and organize parts for shipment to ensure timely and accurate delivery. • Assist with inventory control by tracking parts, updating records, and helping maintain proper stock levels. • Transfer incoming phone calls to the appropriate managers or team members in a courteous and efficient manner. • Support a production-based environment by managing tasks in a timely and organized manner. • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and consistent customer satisfaction. Essential Skills
• At least 6 months of customer service experience in an automotive or mechanical field. • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers. • Basic data entry skills with attention to accuracy and detail. • Ability to read or interpret basic service information, such as blueprints or equipment documentation, as needed. • Familiarity with machinery maintenance concepts or mechanical environments. • Proficiency in using Microsoft programs (such as Word, Excel, or similar tools) for daily tasks. • Ability to work effectively in a production-based environment with consistent workflows. • Strong organizational skills to manage orders, parts, and customer information efficiently. • Experience working in a service center, automotive shop, or mechanical repair environment. • Comfort working with blueprints or technical documentation related to equipment or machinery. • Previous experience supporting inventory control or parts management. • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced setting. • Strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor when interacting with customers and colleagues. The dress code is casual and practical, with jeans and a T-shirt appropriate for daily wear, and steel-toe footwear required for safety. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Billings, MT. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
