Job Title: Day Porter / JanitorJob DescriptionWe are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Day Porter / Janitor to support cleanliness and sanitation efforts within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has 23 years of commercial janitorial experience, preferably in a regulated manufacturing, healthcare, laboratory, or pharmaceutical setting. In this role, you maintain a clean, safe, and compliant facility by following strict sanitation, safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards. Responsibilities • Perform daily cleaning and sanitization of offices, production support areas, breakrooms, restrooms, locker rooms, and common areas. • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and clean floors and surfaces throughout the facility to maintain a high standard of cleanliness. • Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste in accordance with company procedures and safety guidelines. • Restock restroom, breakroom, and cleaning supplies as needed to ensure all areas remain fully supplied. • Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces to support a hygienic and safe work environment. • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety protocols, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and facility cleaning procedures. • Maintain cleaning logs and documentation as required to support regulatory and quality compliance. • Identify and promptly report maintenance, safety, or sanitation concerns to the appropriate personnel. • Assist with special cleaning projects and facility setups as needed, including deep cleaning and event or production support. • Properly handle, store, and use cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and equipment in accordance with safety and handling procedures. • Operate cleaning equipment such as buffers, vacuums, floor scrubbers, and other industrial cleaning machines. • Manage work orders related to cleaning tasks and ensure timely completion of assigned duties. • Support trash removal and waste management processes, including segregation and proper disposal. • Ensure restrooms are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and restocked on a regular schedule. • Demonstrate consistent attention to detail and time management to complete all tasks within the assigned shift. Essential Skills • 23 years of janitorial, custodial, or day porter experience in a commercial environment. • Experience working in a pharmaceutical, manufacturing, healthcare, laboratory, or other regulated environment preferred. • Proficiency in general cleaning and housekeeping, including janitorial duties and industrial cleaning. • Strong floor care skills, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and buffing. • Ability to perform sanitization and disinfection tasks to meet strict cleanliness standards. • Experience with trash removal and waste management procedures. • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and safe handling procedures. • Ability to follow SOPs, GMP guidelines, and safety regulations consistently. • Capability to operate cleaning equipment such as buffers, vacuums, floor scrubbers, and other cleaning machines. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and quality. • Effective time management skills to prioritize and complete tasks within the shift. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the entire shift. • Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with restroom cleaning, sanitization, and restocking in a commercial or industrial setting. • Familiarity with maintaining cleaning logs and documentation for regulatory compliance. • Comfort working in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or similar controlled environment. • Ability to identify and communicate maintenance, safety, or sanitation issues promptly. • Experience handling work orders and coordinating cleaning tasks with facility needs. • Skill in using industrial cleaning machines and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility with strict cleanliness, safety, and GMP standards. You will work around production support areas, offices, restrooms, breakrooms, locker rooms, and common spaces, using industrial cleaning equipment such as buffers, vacuums, floor scrubbers, and other cleaning machines. The regular schedule is approximately 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., with scheduled days off during the week and a Saturday shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You must be able to train during daytime hours for the first week or two if needed. The environment requires adherence to safety protocols, proper chemical handling, and consistent physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Coppell, TX. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
