Job Title: Structures TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Structures Technician maintains, repairs, modifies, fabricates, and installs structural components and assemblies on aircraft using current technical data such as blueprints, manufacturers drawings, and manuals. This role focuses on both internal and external aircraft structures and surfaces, performing precise sheet metal work, fastener removal and installation, and structural repairs to support safe and reliable aircraft operation. Responsibilities • Maintain, repair, modify, fabricate, and install aircraft structural parts, items, and assemblies using current technical data, including blueprints, manufacturers drawings, and manuals. • Plan, lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and repair internal and external aircraft structures and surfaces for aircraft repair projects. • Perform structural repairs using various sheet metal types and thicknesses, ensuring work meets specified tolerances and quality standards. • Remove and replace various fastener types such as solid rivets, blind rivets, HI-Locs, and similar aircraft fasteners. • Read and follow all work instructions and accurately document work performed using process planning documents, adhesive log sheets, Material Review Board/Engineering Work Orders (MRB/EWOs), process specifications, and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals. • Read and interpret basic blueprints to determine repair and fabrication requirements. • Use close tolerance measuring tools, including scales, micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges, to verify dimensions and ensure compliance with specifications. • Use hand tools such as drill motors, die grinders, rivet guns, and fastener installation tools to perform structural work safely and effectively. • Perform alignment and assembly operations using jigs, templates, and fixtures to ensure proper fit and structural integrity. • Carry out trimming, burring, countersinking, riveting, drilling, and reaming operations to blueprint-specified tolerances. • Comply with all safety requirements, including successful completion and ongoing compliance with respirator fit testing in accordance with company policy and applicable safety regulations. • Adhere to all FAA safety-sensitive regulations applicable to the position and maintain high standards of safety and quality in all work performed. Essential Skills • Approximately 6+ years of experience working with aircraft structures and sheet metal repair is preferred. • Proficiency in aircraft sheet metal work, including repair, fabrication, and modification of structural components. • Ability to work with various sheet metal types and thicknesses used in aircraft structures. • Experience removing and installing aircraft fasteners such as solid rivets, blind rivets, and HI-Locs. • Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and technical documentation, including process planning documents, MRB/EWOs, process specifications, and OEM manuals. • Capability to read and interpret basic blueprints for aircraft structural work. • Skill in using close tolerance measuring tools such as scales, micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges. • Competence in using hand tools including drill motors, die grinders, rivet guns, and fastener installation tools. • Ability to perform alignment and assembly using jigs, templates, and fixtures. • Proficiency in trimming, burring, countersinking, riveting, drilling, and reaming to blueprint-specified tolerances. • Ability to successfully pass and maintain compliance with respirator fit testing requirements throughout employment. • Willingness and ability to comply with safety-sensitive requirements under FAA regulations. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license is preferred. • Experience in aircraft modification and repair environments. • Familiarity with process specifications and OEM manuals related to aircraft structures. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, precise structural work. • Ability to work effectively in a climate-controlled shop environment with provided tools. • Comfort working in a small-team setting with a close-knit, family-like atmosphere. Tools required to perform the job are provided on-site, supporting efficient and safe completion of aircraft structural work in a professional shop environment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, TX. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
