About this role

Material Handler - $23/hr INJob DescriptionThis role supports a large manufacturing operation in the Eastern Indianapolis region by safely and efficiently handling materials across 2nd and 3rd shift. You will move, track, and prepare products using a variety of material-handling equipment, ensuring accurate documentation and timely flow of materials throughout a high-volume warehouse and production environment.Responsibilities

• Pull, pick, and pack boxes weighing up to 50 pounds, with a target of handling approximately 1,000 boxes per person per shift. • Use electric and manual pallet jacks, as well as tuggers, to move carts loaded with materials throughout the facility. • Occasionally operate a sit-down forklift to move palletized products safely and efficiently. • Physically push full carts containing 72 containers per cart, multiple times per day, while maintaining safety and productivity standards. • Use RF scanners to track inventory, record movements, and ensure accurate stock levels. • Weigh product and packaging according to customer specifications and internal quality standards. • Accurately document materials, batch numbers, and related information in line with established company guidelines. • Work in a fast-paced warehouse and manufacturing environment, meeting daily production and material-handling targets. • Follow all safety procedures when operating forklifts, pallet jacks, tuggers, and other equipment. • Participate in a structured training program, including lecture-style and hands-on instruction, and apply learned skills on the job. • Support overtime requirements by working extended hours at the end of the shift and occasional Saturdays with advance notice. • Maintain a clean and organized work area despite working in a hot, dirty, and oily department, and use appropriate protective equipment as required. Essential Skills

• Experience as a Forklift or Tugger Operator in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. • Background as an Order Selector, Picker, or similar material-handling role. • Ability to use RF scanners to pick orders, track inventory, and manage materials. • Proficiency with material-handling equipment including pallet jacks (manual and electric), tuggers, and sit-down forklifts. • Comfort working in a high-volume warehouse environment with repetitive lifting of up to 50 pounds. • Demonstrated ability to pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently. • Stable work history with at least 1+ year per job in previous roles. • Ability to follow detailed procedures for weighing products and documenting batch numbers and materials. • Willingness and physical ability to work in a hot, dirty, and oily department for the duration of the shift. • Reliability to work assigned 2nd or 3rd shift hours and required overtime. Work is performed primarily on 2nd and 3rd shifts, with initial training on 1st shift for approximately 46 weeks. Training hours are 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and include about two weeks of lecture-style instruction combined with hands-on training in a dedicated Global Training Center before transitioning to the assigned shift. Regular shift hours include 2nd shift from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and 3rd shift from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM, Sunday through Thursday. Overtime of 24 hours may be required at the end of shifts, and occasional Saturday work may be scheduled with advance notice. The department environment is very hot, dirty, and oily, requiring comfort with physically demanding work and adherence to safety practices. Team members work around and operate equipment such as sit-down forklifts, electric and manual pallet jacks, tuggers, RF scanners, and other standard warehouse tools. Uniforms are provided, along with safety shoes and prescription safety glasses, contributing to a practical, safety-focused dress code suitable for a heavy industrial and warehouse setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Greenfield, IN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $43680.00 - $49920.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Internal growth within the company!
