Job Title: Shipping and Receiving ClerkJob DescriptionThe Shipping and Receiving Clerk works in the warehouse and is responsible for receiving inbound freight, processing and shipping outbound orders, performing light assembly, and maintaining accurate inventory in a clean, organized environment. This role involves frequent use of bar code scanners, computer systems, and material handling equipment, and is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys packaging boxes, staying active throughout the day, and working with clear, measurable performance goals.Responsibilities

• Receive inbound freight and verify shipments against documentation to ensure accuracy. • Process and ship outbound orders by picking, packing, and preparing materials for dispatch according to order sheets. • Use bar code scanners and multiple computer systems and programs to complete accurate data entry and track inventory movements. • Perform light assembly tasks as required to prepare products for shipment. • Work on the packing line, packaging boxes efficiently and accurately, and use standing desk workstations to check the accuracy of work sheets. • Pick orders from order sheets and move materials throughout the warehouse to designated locations. • Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, pallet wrappers, and scales in a safe and efficient manner. • Train to operate cherry pickers and other forklifts as needed to retrieve materials from various warehouse locations. • Safely lift 5060 pounds throughout an 8-hour shift, requesting team lifts for items over 50 pounds when appropriate. • Maintain an accurate inventory by assisting with cycle counts and physical inventory processes. • Stock, organize, and move material correctly throughout the warehouse to support efficient operations. • Maintain a clean, organized warehouse and a safe working environment by following established procedures, rules, and safety standards. • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards, ensuring orders are picked, packed, and shipped correctly. • Monitor and work toward clear hourly performance metrics and goals posted on whiteboards. • Utilize basic hand tools and handheld equipment to complete daily warehouse tasks. • Support inventory control activities and contribute to continuous improvement of warehouse processes. Essential Skills

• Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with warehouse teammates and supervisors. • Ability to safely lift and carry 5060 pounds throughout an 8-hour shift, including team lifting for heavier items. • Comfort using bar code scanners and handheld tools in a fast-paced warehouse environment. • Ability to use basic hand tools to perform light assembly and general warehouse tasks. • Willingness to be trained on cherry pickers and other forklifts to safely retrieve and move materials. • Attention to detail and accuracy when picking orders from order sheets and checking work against documentation. • Capability to perform accurate data entry using multiple computer systems and programs. • Commitment to following established safety procedures, quality standards, and warehouse rules. • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and remain productive with repetitive, detail-oriented tasks. • Comfort working with clear, hourly performance metrics and goals. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous warehouse experience, including inventory control responsibilities, is highly beneficial. • Experience with cherry pickers or any type of forklift is ideal but not mandatory. • Familiarity with loading and unloading materials, packing, and shipping processes in a warehouse setting. • Experience operating pallet jacks, pallet wrappers, and scales in a distribution or manufacturing environment. • Background in environments that use bar code scanning and performance-based metrics, such as large fulfillment centers. • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area while managing multiple tasks. • Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled environment with continuous physical activity. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.25 - $18.25/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
