Job Title: General LaborerJob DescriptionThe General Laborer focuses on maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and basic inspection readiness of vehicles at market hubs. In this role, you coordinate with team members to support timely deliveries and help ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through careful vehicle preparation and consistent communication. Responsibilities • Inspect each vehicle for mechanical, drivability, or cosmetic concerns prior to use or display. • Wash and vacuum all vehicles in inventory on a regular basis to maintain a clean and professional appearance. • Complete multi-point inspections on arriving inventory, including checking fuel level, safety features, conducting a drivability test, and verifying proper display of all required company and state disclosures. • Detail vehicles as needed to meet internal quality standards and enhance customer satisfaction. • Safely park, move, and position vehicles in the lot and workshop areas according to company guidelines. • Perform test driving of vehicles as part of inspection and quality control procedures, following all safety and traffic regulations. • Maintain positive, professional relationships with coworkers and external vendors to support smooth operations. • Interact and communicate effectively with team members and management across different areas of the business. • Adhere to regular and predictable attendance to support consistent workflow and operational reliability. • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of required protective equipment, while working in indoor and outdoor environments. Essential Skills • Experience with vehicle detailing, including cleaning, washing, and interior care. • Ability to wash and vacuum vehicles thoroughly and efficiently. • Capability to safely test drive vehicles and identify basic drivability issues. • Skill in parking, maneuvering, and positioning vehicles in tight or busy areas. • Strong attention to detail when inspecting vehicles for mechanical, cosmetic, and safety concerns. • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers, management, and vendors. • Reliability in maintaining regular and predictable attendance. • Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds independently, primarily from knee to shoulder height, with additional lifting from various levels. • Ability to carry and transport up to 60 pounds for distances up to 20 feet. • Capacity to stand for extended periods with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and pulling. • Comfort working in environments that may be cold, hot, noisy, wet, and may contain fumes or odors. • Excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity for detailed inspection and handling tasks. • Ability to frequently drive and perform some typing as part of daily duties. Additional Skills & Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent is desirable. • Minimum age of 18 years. • Valid drivers license required. • Clean driving record for the past 3 years. • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions. • Ability to use safety equipment such as face shields or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, masks, and other protective garments and equipment. • Comfort working both independently and as part of a team. • Willingness to follow established procedures and safety guidelines. Work EnvironmentThis role involves working in both indoor and outdoor settings, primarily in parking lots and workshop areas that are not climate controlled. You may experience varying temperatures, including cold and hot conditions, as well as noise, wet surfaces, fumes, and odors associated with vehicle operations and outdoor work. The position requires frequent standing, walking, stretching, reaching, stooping, pushing, and pulling. Safety equipment such as face shields or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, masks, and other protective garments and equipment is used regularly to maintain a safe working environment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Gaithersburg, MD. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
