Job Title: CNC MachinistJob DescriptionThis role focuses on CNC machining to create bases and parts for pump systems, including the setup and operation of mills and lathes. You will work with both CNC and manual machines, perform fitting tasks, and support welding activities to produce high-quality, precision components in a clean, modern facility. Responsibilities • Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes, including equipment such as Doosan and Mori-Seiki machines, to produce bases and parts for pump systems. • Interpret work instructions, drawings, and specifications to machine components to precise dimensions and tolerances. • Perform CNC machining operations from start to finish, including selecting tools, loading programs, and verifying part quality. • Operate manual machining equipment as needed to support production and finishing work. • Carry out fitting tasks to ensure parts assemble correctly and meet functional requirements. • Support welding-related activities, including MIG and flux core welding, where applicable to structural and component fabrication. • Inspect machined and welded parts for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as necessary. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all shop safety procedures and guidelines. • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and respond to changing priorities. • Participate in optional overtime when available to support production demands. Essential Skills • Proven experience setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes, including Doosan and Mori-Seiki or similar equipment. • Hands-on CNC machining experience producing precision bases and parts for mechanical or pump systems. • Ability to operate manual machining equipment to complement CNC operations. • Experience with MIG welding and flux core welding in a production or structural environment. • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform fitting and assembly-related tasks. • Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, drawings, and specifications for machining and welding work. • Commitment to maintaining quality standards, accuracy, and attention to detail throughout the machining process. • Ability to work a 2nd shift schedule from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Formal schooling or technical training in machining or a related trade is a plus. • Experience with structural welding is highly beneficial. • Background as a machinist or CNC operator in a production or manufacturing environment. • Willingness to work optional overtime when offered. • Interest in continuous learning and skill development in machining and welding technologies. Employees work with CNC mills and lathes, including Doosan and Mori-Seiki machines, as well as manual machining equipment and welding processes such as MIG and flux core. The facility includes an on-site wellness center and gym that employees and their families can use, supporting a healthy and active lifestyle. Standard industrial shop attire and appropriate safety gear are expected to ensure a safe and professional work setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedarburg, WI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
