Job Title: Janitorial SupervisorJob DescriptionThe Janitorial Supervisor is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and supervising the activities of the building and facility cleaning staff. This role ensures that cleaners maintain offices, hallways, stairs, and other areas within the building in a clean and orderly condition by performing basic cleaning duties. The supervisor may also oversee the clean-up and basic maintenance of the surrounding grounds and premises. Responsibilities • Supervise, schedule, and assign the cleaning staff for daily interior cleaning, including tasks such as emptying waste receptacles, debris and trash removal, vacuuming/shampooing floors and carpets, dusting and cleaning furniture, cleaning and restocking restrooms, washing walls, polishing, mopping floors, cleaning up spills, placing mats/runners during inclement weather, cleaning windows and window coverings. • Assign tasks, inspect building areas to ensure work is done properly, issue supplies and equipment, and conduct inventory of materials to ensure adequate supplies are always present. • Assist with screening and hiring of job applicants, training employees, conducting performance reviews, and making recommendations on promotions, transfers, or dismissals. • Prepare and present reports concerning room occupancy, hours worked, staff assignments, tasks performed, and department expenses. • Supervise and assist with exterior building and premises cleaning, snow removal, and basic maintenance, including exterior walls and windows, parking lots, gardens, pools, curbs, gutters, exterior hallways, and stairwells. • Assign staff for minor maintenance and repair work, including painting, replacement of light bulbs and fixtures, furniture moving, door and gate repairs, landscaping, and plumbing repairs. • Perform other assigned duties such as gardening, lawn care, maintaining outdoor furnishings, inventory control, supply ordering, snow removal, and assisting with tenant moves. • Respond promptly to spills and emergency situations, notify management of major and minor repairs needed, and address safety issues. • Ensure proper and safe operation of cleaning equipment and tools, train staff on their use, and dispose of cleaning agents in an environmentally friendly way. • Organize and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for cleaning products, ensure staff training on Hazard Communication Program, and enforce use of appropriate safety gear. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
