Job Title: Production MIG Welder Exhaust PartsJob DescriptionThis role focuses on MIG welding and repair of exhaust parts in a high-volume production environment. You will perform consistent, high-quality welds on stainless steel components, support ongoing repair work, and maintain productivity standards throughout your shift. Responsibilities • Perform MIG welding on exhaust parts in a production repair environment. • Complete repair welding on exhaust components to meet quality and safety standards. • Maintain consistent weld quality on stainless steel materials, including 1/4-inch thickness. • Keep up with required welding pace to meet production goals and deadlines. • Follow work instructions, welding procedures, and safety guidelines at all times. • Inspect welded parts for defects and perform necessary rework or repairs. • Use appropriate welding techniques and equipment to ensure durable, accurate welds. • Collaborate with team members to maintain workflow and minimize downtime. • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with shop safety standards. Essential Skills • Proven MIG welding experience in a production or repair environment. • Ability to pass a MIG weld test on 1/4-inch stainless steel. • Strong proficiency in MIG welding techniques on exhaust parts and similar components. • Ability to perform repair welding with attention to detail and quality. • Capability to sustain required welding pace and meet production targets. • Understanding of basic welding safety practices and proper equipment use. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with TIG welding is beneficial. • Previous work in a welding-focused environment is an advantage. • Comfort working on repetitive tasks in a production setting. • Ability to follow detailed instructions and quality standards. Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a dedicated welding environment focused on exhaust part production and repair. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., with potential overtime on Fridays from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Initial training is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday through Friday in October. You will work with MIG welding equipment and related tools in an industrial shop setting that emphasizes safety, proper protective gear, and adherence to welding best practices. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn Hills, MI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
