Operator I, Machine

Job Purpose: A Machine Operator is responsible for a variety of machine -specific functions -- from setting up equipment, loading materials, operating machinery, to monitoring and optimizing efficiency, maintaining machines and performing quality checks. A machinist will typically have the knowledge and ability to operate/utilize various machines to produce high quality axles through either our machining process with various lathes and end mills or through our plating process to refurbish.

Key Job Elements: Available Shifts: 2nd Shift 2:00 pm- 10:30 pm Training required 6-8 weeks during day shift hours 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Hourly Pay $18.50 plus a shift differential.

Operate machinery to produce & refurbish wheels set according to AAR guidelines.

• Must be able to work any shift, overtime and weekends to meet business demands; • Follow all work procedures and maintain accurate documentation accordingly; • Abide by all safety regulations; • Operate overhead cranes; • Must have complete understanding of safe work practices; • Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision; • Must be able to read and write legibly to complete production reports with accuracy; • Must be quality oriented and a team player; • Strong attention to detail; • Organizational skills;

Education / Training: • High School education or GED.

Qualifications and Experience: • Mechanical aptitude; • Read precision instruments and gauges; • Understand technical drawings and work instructions; • Capable use of hand and power tools, including pneumatic tools; • Must be able to complete production reports with accuracy; • Strong attention to detail; • Operate overhead cranes;
