Visa Information: TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.
Position Description: Employees in this position will work a hybrid remote schedule and are responsible for the maintenance of patient billing accounts and performing numerous related functions to accomplish this task; such as, patient registration, insurance follow-up, financial screening of unfunded patients, answering patient billing inquiries, collection of unpaid balances and posting of payments in the Regional Campus Business Office. Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards and complies with all federal, state, and institutional guidelines.
Major/Essential Functions: • Manage assigned ETM workflows by documenting actions, outcomes, and account activity in task notes, general comments, and financial comments while maintaining accurate billing records. • Contact insurance carriers, patients, and employers via phone, email, fax, correspondence, and payer portals to obtain claim status, verify eligibility, gather billing information, and update patient account records. • Process, submit, and rebill claims electronically whenever possible, ensuring accurate billing information and compliance with payer requirements. • Review, research, and resolve billing inquiries, corrected claim requests, payer correspondence, claim denials, appeals, and claim redirects to support timely reimbursement. • Reconcile daily batches, maintain balanced workflows, verify refund requests, and follow established policies and procedures to ensure billing accuracy and compliance. • Research and communicate billing issues, payer updates, insurance notifications, and process changes through SharePoint, management channels, and other appropriate communication methods. • Provide support across all accounts receivable functions, collaborate with internal stakeholders, and participate in departmental meetings to promote effective revenue cycle operations.
Required Qualifications: Education: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Two years of medical or general office experience OR Completion of related education or training and one year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications: • Experience managing healthcare accounts receivable, including claim follow-up, denial resolution, appeals, payment posting review, and reimbursement recovery. • Experience with CPT, ICD10, HCPCS, modifiers, and coding principles. • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat for medical billing activities, including documentation management, data analysis, reporting, and claim-related correspondence.

Pay Statement: Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan.
