We are not looking for an experience GP Practice Site Manager to lead our Rhyddings Surgery site and become a vital part of our growing management team.
This is a full-time permanent role (37.5 hours per week) offering real variety, genuine responsibility, and the opportunity to make a lasting difference - both to the staff you will lead and to the patients and community we serve.

Main duties of the job
As Site Manager at Rhyddings Surgery, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational running of the site, leading and supporting a dedicated team of care navigators, nursing and administrative Staff.

Leading developing and inspiring your team to deliver outstanding patient careManaging all HR matters on site, including recruitment, induction, appraisals and sickness absenceWorking in conjunction with the quality manager, overseeing clinical governance, audit and quality improvement activityManaging patient complaints with sensitivity and professionalismEnsuring health, safety and risk management responsibilities are met on siteSupporting the practice's digital transformation and information governanceContributing to policy and protocol development across the practiceWorking collaboratively with the Practice Managers, GP partners and wider management teamThis is a varied and rewarding role that sits at the heart of the practice. Job description Job responsibilities
The Site Manager is responsible for the effective day-to-day operational, people, and governance management of Rhyddings Surgery. Working closely with the Practice Manager, GP partners, and the wider Cornerstone management team, you will ensure the site runs safely, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard.
This is a visible, hands-on leadership role. You will inspire and support your team, drive continuous improvement, and ensure Rhyddings is well-placed to meet the evolving demands of modern primary care.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership and Team Development
Provide visible, consistent, and compassionate leadership to the Rhyddings teamBuild a strong, positive team culture grounded in the Christian values of Cornerstone PracticeSupport staff growth through one-to-one appraisals, and coaching conversationsDevelop a thorough understanding of all roles within the team to lead and advocate effectivelyAct as a positive and stabilising presence during periods of changeParticipate in acts of worship, prayer, and the spiritual life of the practice2. HR and People Management
Support all HR matters in line with employment law and Cornerstone HR policies, including sickness absence, performance, conduct etcSupport recruitment, induction, and onboarding of new staffConduct appraisals and one-to-ones, agreeing clear objectives and development plansEnsure all mandatory training requirements are met and accurately recordedMaintain accurate and confidential HR records3. Operational Management
Oversees the smooth and safe day-to-day running of the siteManage staffing levels, rotas, and cover arrangementsDelegate responsibilities effectively with clear communication and appropriate supportIdentify and lead service improvementsAttend all relevant meetings including practice work and prayer meetings4. Clinical Governance, Audit and Quality
Ensure all audits are planned, completed on time, and that learning is shared and embeddedSupport achievements in QOF, Enhanced Service, and other quality frameworksContribute to the development and review of practice policies and protocolsMaintain accurate governance records including risk registers and significant event logsLead or support significant event analysis and complaint reviews5. Complaints Management
Manage patients complaints professionally, sensitively, and in line with NHS regulationsSeek to resolve concerns at the earliest opportunity with a calm, proportionate approachEnsure all written communication to patients is accurate, compassionate and consistent with practice standards.Use learning from complaints to drive service improvement6. Digital Transformation and Information Governance
Champion the effective use of digital tools and clinical systems across the siteEnsure staff are trained and confident in systems relevant to their rolesMaintain data security, user access controls, and information governance complianceAct as information Asset Owners for data held at RhyddingsEnsure compliance with data protection legislation and Caldicott guidelines7. Health and Safety and Risk Management
Ensure all risk assessment are current, completed on time, and risks are actioned and recordedEnsure the site complies with Health and safely legislation at all timesManage premises and facilities, ensuring the environment is safe and fit for purpose8. External Relationships and PCN working
Represent Rhyddings and Cornerstone professionally in all external communicationsStay current with NHS policy, PCN priorities and commissioners requirements9. General Duties

Experience Essential
Minimum 2 years experience in a management or supervisory role with direct line management responsibility Experience of managing HR matters including sickness absence, performance, conduct, and grievances Experience of managing complaints and driving feedback Experience of contributing to or writing policies, protocols or standard operating procedures
Desirable
Previous experience working in general practice or primary care Experience of working across a multi-site or hub-based environment Experience of clinical audit programmes or governance processes Experience of working with EMIS or similar clinical systems Experience of preparing for or supporting external quality assessments

Qualifications Essential
Bachelor's degree (Level 6 or above) in Business Management, Public Administration, Healthcare or another relevant discipline GCSE (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent in English and Mathematics Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to management and leadership
Desirable
AMSPAR Diploma in Primary Care Management or equivalent Chartered Management Institute (CMI) level 5 or above Qualification in coaching, HR, or health management
Other Requirements Essential
Full driving licence and access to a motor vehicle Ability to travel between Cornerstone sites as required Willingness to complete required mandatory and role specific training
