As a PLM and Engineering Tools Implementation Specialist, you will play a key role in implementing, operating, and continuously improving our PLM ecosystem. Acting as the link between engineering, factories, and IT, you will help establish a robust digital thread from mechanical design through PLM to manufacturing execution. This role combines PLM implementation, engineering tools integration, mechanical engineering expertise, and engineering data management, offering an exciting opportunity to influence both digital transformation and factory automation initiatives across Hitachi Energy.

Role Purpose

Responsible for implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of PLM to support engineering tools and enable factory automation.

PLM Implementation

Contribute and/or lead tools implementation projectsSupport design tools and PLM integrationSupport data architecture and migrationEnsure alignment with global strategies, policies, architecture, and standards PLM Operations & Housekeeping

Collaborate with PLM teamPerform engineering data quality activities:CAD/PLM consistency checksMetadata completion and cleanupResolve issues (check-in errors, workflows, data inconsistencies)Support CAD cleanup and harmonization initiatives Mechanical Engineering & CAD Data Management

Act as PLM expert for mechanical engineering domainEnsure correct CAD structures and CAD-PLM alignmentManage skeleton models, templates, and modular design patternsOptimize:CAD-BOM consistencyDependencies and model qualitySupport standard parts libraries and modular design Engineering Tools & Integration

Integrate Creo and other tools with WindchillEnable centralized data management and lifecycle traceabilitySupport automation between engineering tools and PLM Factory Automation Enablement

Translate PLM data into manufacturing inputs:Machine parameters, work instructions, test dataSupport integration with MES / factory systemsEnable design-driven automation Governance & Continuous Improvement

Define and enforce CAD/PLM standardsDrive data quality, reuse, and standardizationOptimize engineering change and release processesIdentify automation opportunities Stakeholder Collaboration

Interface between engineering, factories, and ITSupport users with training, documentation, and best practices Your background

Education & Experience

Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field5+ years of experience in:PLM systems (Windchill preferred)Engineering tools ecosystem / CAD (Creo preferred)PLM implementation or digital transformation programs Technical Skills

Expertise in:Windchill configuration and data modelCAD data management and integrationEngineering change workflowsExperience with:Data migration and system rolloutPLM housekeeping and data quality operationsSystem integration (APIs, middleware)Understanding of:BOM and configuration managementFactory systems and digital thread concepts Soft Skills
