We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail Assistant to join our dynamic team in Letterkenny, Ireland. In this role, you will be at the heart of our store operations, delivering exceptional customer service whilst maintaining our high standards of store presentation and organisation. The successful candidate will be reliable, organised, and eager to contribute to a collaborative retail environment where every team member makes a difference. • Provide friendly and professional customer service, assisting customers with product enquiries, purchases, and handling transactions accurately using till and Point of Sale (POS) systems
Maintain store cleanliness and organisation, including tidying fitting rooms, aisles, and storage areas to create an inviting shopping environment • Support colleagues during busy trading periods and assist with visual merchandising to enhance product presentation and maximise sales opportunities • Monitor stock levels, rotate merchandise, and report shortages to management in a timely mannerHandle customer complaints with empathy and professionalism, escalating issues to management where necessary • Receive and process deliveries, checking stock accuracy and ensuring items are stored appropriately • Demonstrate initiative in identifying customer needs and suggesting relevant products to enhance their shopping experience • Maintain awareness of current promotions, product knowledge, and store policies to provide informed assistance to customers **Required Qualifications:** • Proven customer service experience in a retail or similar environment
Proficiency with till systems and Point of Sale (POS) technology • Strong communication and people skills with the ability to interact positively with diverse customers and colleagues • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team • Excellent organisational and time-keeping abilities with reliability and punctuality • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions and stock managementPhysical capability to stand for extended periods and lift stock items safely • Flexibility to work varied shift patterns, including weekends and bank holidays • Basic numeracy skills for handling cash and processing transactions • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to handle pressure during peak trading periods**Desirable Qualifications:** • Previous retail experience and product knowledge within the sector • Problem-solving abilities and initiative in identifying and addressing customer needs • Experience working in a fast-paced retail environment • Familiarity with retail inventory management systems • Customer service or retail-related qualifications or training
