The Opportunity Join a high‑performing team delivering essential power infrastructure across NSW. As a Senior Protection & Control (P&C) Technician, you’ll play a key role in the testing and commissioning of high-voltage (HV) substations across NSW, including regional areas, Metro Sydney, and surrounding regions. As the successful applicant, you will provide the required technical support, advice and mentoring on all testing and commissioning related matters during feasibility, estimating, completion, and commissioning phases of project lifecycles. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands on, solving technical problems, and mentoring the next generation of talent.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop Inspection and Test Plans and Commissioning Plan’s for projects • Provide proactive support and guidance to Project Managers, Construction Managers, Site Supervisors and other Testers during the delivery stage of the project • Ensure that all Test procedures are followed and recorded • Support the preparation of documentation for bids and tenders • Provide budgetary targets to all relevant stakeholders • Provide mentoring as necessary for new employees • Contribute to the development of trainees and graduates
About You
• Hold an Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Power Systems • Hold a current A Grade Electrical Licence (desirable but not essential) • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in HV protection and control testing • Compliance with TransGrid training and authority requirements for field testing and commissioning.
• Proven testing and commissioning experience within Transmission switchyards and substations • In depth familiarity with Australian electrical standards (e.g. AS/NZS 3000, AS 2067) • Strong computer literacy and technical documentation skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a site-based team • Willingness to travel.
