How you'll contribute A Care Aide who excels in this role will:
• Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possibly taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output. • Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation. • Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff. • Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean and orderly. • Maintains patient records, charts, and other documentation in legible, accurate, and appropriate format to ensure an accurate record of the patient’s medical treatment. • Performs general support tasks in the following areas: stocking supplies, maintaining the unit environment, and clerical tasks. What we're looking for It is preferred that applicants have a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional requirements include:
• Certifications: Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) • Experience: 1 year of related experience preferred. More about our ICU team Join our fast-paced Intensive Care Unit, where you’ll work alongside a close-knit team caring for some of the hospital’s most critically ill patients. Teamwork is at the heart of the ICU, with the philosophy that every patient is everyone’s patient. Each team member plays an important role in providing safe, compassionate care and supporting the best possible patient outcomes. As an ICU Care Aide, you’ll have a hands-on role supporting both patients and the clinical team. Responsibilities may include assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing and oral care, ambulation, feeding patients requiring full assistance, helping patients to the bathroom, stocking supplies, completing hourly safety rounds, assisting with unit clerk duties, and other unit needs. The ICU team describes itself as a family that works hard, supports one another, and still has fun in a fast-paced environment. Care Aides also have the opportunity to cross-train in the Unit Clerk role, providing additional experience and opportunities to expand their skills.
