About this role
We are currently recruiting for a permanent Electrical Fitter to join our Essential Water team based in Broken Hill. The Electrical Fitter is responsible for the delivery of a range of technical works encompassing the maintenance, construction, inspection and operation of equipment related to water operations. The role plays a critical part in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of electrical infrastructure and assets across the Essential Water network. Working as part of a collaborative field-based team, you will undertake a variety of technical activities including maintenance, testing, fault finding, switching operations and construction works on electrical assets that support water treatment and distribution services. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, environmental compliance and customer service, while contributing to the delivery of operational programs and essential services for our communities. Key Responsibilities
• Undertake the construction, maintenance, inspection and repair of electrical systems and network assets associated with the water business. • Conduct inspection, testing and verification activities and complete associated reports on electrical installations and water infrastructure. • Perform switching and operating work associated with water network electrical assets in accordance with approved practices. • Operate plant and equipment associated with electrical construction and maintenance activities. • Contribute to a positive safety culture and comply with all safety, environmental and asset management requirements. About You
• Demonstrated experience applying electrical trade skills within a utility, water, industrial or distribution environment. • Sound knowledge of electrical infrastructure maintenance, testing, fault finding and repair activities. • Experience undertaking High and Low Voltage switching activities and working within permit systems. • Ability to respond effectively to planned and unplanned operational events. • Strong commitment to workplace health, safety and environmental compliance. • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. • Basic computer skills and experience completing work records and reports. Required Qualifications
• Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications. • Current Driver Licence. • Qualified Supervisor Certificate. • NSW Construction Induction (White Card).
