POSITION SUMMARY
Vertiv Anderson is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Box Truck Driver to support the transportation and delivery of materials, equipment, and products to internal and external customers. This position is responsible for safely operating company box trucks, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries, maintaining regulatory compliance, conducting required vehicle inspections, and providing exceptional customer service.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and operational excellence while supporting Vertiv's manufacturing and distribution operations. Drivers are expected to comply with all applicable DOT regulations, FMCSR requirements, company policies, and fleet safety standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Transportation & Delivery
• Safely operate company box trucks to transport materials, equipment, and finished products. • Complete scheduled deliveries and pickups in a timely and professional manner. • Maintain compliance with all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company policies. • Provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
Vehicle Inspection & Safety
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including air-brake system checks. • Conduct and document Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs). • Immediately report vehicle defects, maintenance issues, accidents, or safety concerns. • Maintain all required vehicle documentation and emergency equipment.
Loading, Unloading & Securement
• Load and unload shipments using pallet jacks, lift gates, and other material handling equipment. • Verify shipment quantities and documentation for accuracy. • Properly secure cargo to prevent shifting or damage during transport • Ensure cargo is loaded within vehicle weight and safety requirements.
Recordkeeping & Compliance
• Complete bills of lading, delivery records, proof-of-delivery documentation, and other transportation records. • Maintain required DOT and company compliance records. • Follow all fleet safety policies, Hours-of-Service requirements, and operational procedures. • Participate in required safety training and compliance programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED required. • Valid CDL Class B driver's license or higher. • No air-brake restriction. • Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate or ability to obtain one. • Must be able to maintain driver’s qualifications CDL Class B and maintain DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate. • Minimum age of 21 years. • Acceptable motor vehicle record. • Ability to operate air-brake-equipped commercial vehicles safely. • Basic computer and mobile device skills. • Strong customer service skills and attention to detail. • Must speak and write English fluently.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous box truck, commercial driving, transportation, warehouse, or logistics experience. • Experience operating lift gates, pallet jacks, forklifts, or material handling equipment. • Experience with DOT compliance and transportation documentation. • Manufacturing or industrial environment experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Due to the nature of our work, Team Members may be required to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis, carry objects over distance, bend, twist, squat, kneel, climb ladders, stand or sit for extended periods of time, and use tools requiring manual dexterity. Work may involve exposure to noise, sparks, heat, and industrial equipment typical of a manufacturing environment.
ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
• Ability to work in an outdoor environment with temperatures occasionally above 100 degrees or below 32 degrees and accompanying elements.
TRAVEL TIME REQUIRED
• Local, with the possibility trips during your shift to Georgia and back to Vertiv locations in South Carolina.
