Build the Next Chapter of Surgery at CASE Carolina Animal Specialty and Emergency (CASE) | Hickory, NC Full-Time | November 2026 Training Start | New Surgical Service Expansion January 2027 CASE is growing our Surgery and Anesthesia service with a new surgeon joining the team in January 2027 . We’re looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join the team in November and receive hands-on training ahead of this exciting expansion. Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) preferred. Experienced Veterinary Assistants with strong surgery or anesthesia experience are encouraged to apply. Surgery & Anesthesia Prepare patients for surgery, anesthesia, and advanced procedures Calculate and administer anesthetic and perioperative medications Perform anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery Monitor ECG, blood pressure, SpO₂, ETCO₂, temperature, and ventilation Recognize anesthetic changes and communicate concerns quickly Assist with soft tissue and orthopedic surgery Maintain sterile technique and efficient surgical workflow Prepare instruments, surgical packs, and equipment Provide post-operative nursing care and pain-management support Emergency & Critical Care Support emergency surgical cases and urgent procedures Care for hospitalized and ICU surgical patients Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately Participate in CPR and emergency response Collaborate with Emergency and Critical Care teams during complex cases Technical Nursing IV catheter placement and venipuncture Medication administration Laboratory diagnostics and radiology support Patient assessment, monitoring, and nursing care Accurate medical records and treatment documentation
