We specialise in Obstetric & Gynaecology surgery, and support our colleagues in Colorectal procedures. Job description Job responsibilities

Assist and support the Clinical Manager in the safe and effective management of the service including management of staff, facilities and associated systems and processes.

Communicate all relevant information to the multidisciplinary team internally and with external organisations as required, to ensure seamless care.

Acts as a role model presenting a positive image of self, the team and the organisation.

Be responsible for the delivery and co-ordination of care, making optimal use of operating sessions. Identify potential bottlenecks and facilitate smooth patient flow through the department.

Set, monitor and maintain standards of care to improve the patient experience and outcome of care.

Proactively manage risk and maintain patient safety, conforming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines.

Communicate all relevant information to themultidisciplinary team internally and with externalorganisations as required, to ensure seamless care.

Promote provision of patient education and healthpromotion.

Promote equality in care and practice by recognising,respecting, and meeting the needs and choices ofindividuals.

Ensures environment of care is safe, well equipped,and compliant with standards for hygiene andcleanliness.

Participate in education and training of junior staffencouraging professional growth and development.

Maintain and develop own professional competence and seek to extend the scope of personal knowledge and skills within scope of role and professionalpractice.

Person Specification

Qualifications & Education Essential

Registered nurse / ODP with current NMC/ HCPC registration Evidence of current and continuing professional development Minimum of 12 months experience in Anaesthetics and/or Recovery Completion of Anaesthetic or ODP Qualification

Desirable

Degree in related health care area Level 3 ILM (Institute of leadership and Management) or equivalent. Core people management skill

Knowledge & Experience Essential

Knowledge of changes in practice and the ability to implement change. Knowledge of Clinical Governance and the relevance to practice Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures Knowledge of escalation and cancellation processes

Desirable

Knowledge of Leadership and Management Experience of budgetary management Research and Development Knowledge of ethical issues
