The Role
The Clinical Practice Educator will be focused on supporting all services across Care Dorset in their clinical and nursing related learning needs, working closely with members of The CarePath Academy Team, comprised of Health & Social Care Trainers and a Digital Learning Coordinater, and will be reporting to the Learning & Development Manager.
The role will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging and inclusive clinical training materials to registered and non-registered care colleagues, ensuring they are equipped with the required level of knowledge, skills, and competencies to deliver the highest quality care possible. The Clinical Practice Educator plays a key role in helping to develop positive learning cultures within teams and will be a role model to promote the sharing of best practice underpinned by the NMC standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Working closely with SMEs to develop high quality in-house clinical training programmes, workshops and resources for front-line care colleagues. Creating and facilitating educational sessions on a broad range of clinical and non-clinical subjects to maintain workforce capabilities in delivering safe and effective care, including but not limited to: Catheter Care Stoma Care Skin Integrity & Tissue Viability Diabetes Care Phlebotomy PEG Feeding MUST Clinical Supervision Medication Administration Monitoring Vital Signs Moving & Assisting of People Basic Life Support Facilitate adult learning processes that create productive & psychologically safe learning environments which supports effective knowledge transfer Ensure that the training delivered meets legal and regulatory compliance guidelines (CQC, NICE, RCN, HEE Frameworks) Ensure that training initiatives align with Care Dorsets policies, procedures, values & strategy. Use a range of multimedia and IT systems to collect, monitor and evaluate data in relation to talent & learning activities. Use the data to report on trends, concerns, and solutions Collaborating with the wider CarePath Academy team to evaluate service delivery and identify skill gaps and learning needs in practice, initiating changes as required. To develop & maintain productive and supportive relationships with managers and care colleagues to ensure their workforce has the skills and training needed to deliver effective and compassionate care.

Job Purpose:
The Clinical Practice Educator will be focused on supporting all services across Care Dorset in their clinical and nursing related learning needs, working closely with members of The CarePath Academy Team, comprised of Health & Social Care Trainers and a Digital Learning Coordinater, and will be reporting to the Learning & Development Manager.
The role will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging and inclusive clinical training materials to registered and non-registered care colleagues, ensuring they are equipped with the required level of knowledge, skills, and competencies to deliver the highest quality care possible. The Clinical Practice Educator plays a key role in helping to develop positive learning cultures within teams and will be a role model to promote the sharing of best practice underpinned by the NMC standards.
Part role includes responsibilities in supporting with new starter induction programmes, occasionally delivering non-clinical courses, learning evaluation, advising registered clinical roles as a mentor and point of expertise in practice, and ad hoc workplace assessments.

To provide ongoing mentorship to registered nurses and other relevant clinical roles in their developmental goals and advise on applications for external qualifications as needed.
Amending and revising learning and development programmes as necessary, to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment, legislation and best practice guidance.
Responding to the local, operational requirements of the workforce.

Qualifications Essential
Education / Qualifications: Registered Nurse - Adult, Learning Disabilities/ Mental Health Current NMC registration and active pin Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a care or clinical setting Minimum 1 year of experience in providing clinical training solutions, and supporting learners in a clinical setting, preferably in the elderly care or adult healthcare sector Knowledge of nursing preceptorship & registration frameworks and standards Excellent knowledge of CQC standards and regulatory requirements Confidence in presenting training programmes, with expert facilitation & interpersonal skills, and a passion for people development. Creative skills to develop learning content using IT Flexible approach with ability to work at pace Driving licence and access to own vehicle to travel to various locations in Dorset Personal alignment with Care Dorsets Values: Integrity, Develop, People Focused, Genuine, Teamwork. Desirable
Desirable skills Experience in designing engaging, inclusive and comprehensive learning courses and resources using digital platforms and systems Train-the-trainers in core clinical subjects e.g. catheter care It would be advantageous if you hold a formal teaching or training qualification within a relevant field or be willing to work towards one.
