We are seeking a weekend Advice Line Assistant to be the frontline voice for referrals and queries to St Catherine's.

Main duties of the job

The Advice Line Assistant role will bring:

Handling calls from patients, families and professionals with sensitivity Providing customer service and administrative support to help operate our 365 day service Keeping accurate records of all calls and ensuring confidentiality Fostering positive working relationships with internal and external colleagues, supporters and the general public

We are seeking an organised, motivated Advice Line Assistant, with excellent attention to detail skills, time management and organisational skills.

The Weekend Advice Line Assistant will provide support to the Advice Line service on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00am to 4:00pm, including Bank Holidays.This post is offered on a permanent part time basis, working 15 hours per week. These hours are worked Saturday and Sunday hours from 8am to 4pm.

The postholder will be expected to attend mandatory training and competency updates. While the role is primarily weekend based, there is an expectation that the successful candidate will be able to attend weekday training sessions and ad hoc update training as required to maintain knowledge, skills, and service standards. Training requirements and attendance arrangements will be discussed at interview.

Qualifications Essential

Educated to at least GCSE C in English and Maths Evidence of continuing personal and professional development

Desirable

Additional computer skills qualifications eg ECDL. Qualification (RSA) in Secretarial/Administration or equivalent administrative experience.

Experience Essential

Call handling experience. Excellent communication both verbal and written, interpersonal and the ability to communicate matters clearly and precisely. Demonstrable experience in working in a fast-paced office environment. Experience and high level skills in wide range of information technology applications, ie word processing, Excel spreadsheets, power point and databases. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Experience of working across boundaries. Excellent attention to detail including proof reading. Ability to manage a variety of tasks concurrently. Understanding of the health and/or social care sector. Understanding of confidentiality and data protection issues.

Desirable

Recent voluntary sector experience. Recent health care sector experience.
