About this role

Job summary

If you are looking for an exciting new role to make a real difference to protecting our community, we have a fantastic opportunity for an individual to join the Powys Teaching Health Board Vaccination and Immunisation booking team.

The post holder will operate in a fast-paced environment where you will be the first point of contact for the service providing telephone and admin support to the population of Powys and the wider vaccination team.

The successful post holder will be required to have customer service experience and must be IT literate with the ability to learn new systems and software packages quickly.

Main duties of the job

Acting as a first point of contact for the department. Deal with and direct calls as necessary in a professional, courteous manner acting as an ambassador for the organisationin all aspects of communication. Dealing with routine and specialist enquiries in a pleasant and helpful manner, communicating relevant information to the relevant departments/person, referring to others as appropriate. Updating of electronic and paper-based systems, collating of information. Responding to and resolving day to day problems that arise within the department and responding to queries, escalating where necessary. Handle confidential information with discretion and in accordance with Data Protection requirements. We would particularly welcome applications from Welsh speakers; but even if you don't speak any Welsh, or want to develop your skills, don't worry: the health board will support you with training.

Person Specification

Qualifications and/or Knowledge Essential

Educated to GCSE level or Literacy/Numeracy at L1 or equivalent RSA/OCR II qualification or equivalent demonstrable skills

Desirable

Knowledge of the Data Protection Act

Experience Essential

Experience of customer service / first point of contact Proven proficiency in the use of IT software Knowledge of office practices Experience of producing correspondence

Previous experience in an office

Skills & Abilities Essential

Work as part of a team or as an individual Communicate cleary and effectively Ability to be polite when dealing with difficult, impatient or upset people A positive attitude and able to act on feedback Ability to travel between PTHB sites Able to work flexibly including weekends
