We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Pharmacy Technician to join our multidisciplinary team, to be based at Holsworthy Medical Centre.
Full-time: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: Competitive salary, depending on experience

Main duties of the job
Undertaking a patient facing role, you will work alongside GPs, clinical pharmacists, nurses and other healthcare professionals, helping to optimise medicines use, improve patient outcomes, reduce waste, and support the delivery of high-quality care across our patient population.
You will be supporting the Group in the achievement of its targets relating to IIF, CQC and QOF.

Our team consists of 2 Partners, 1 Practice Manager, 10 Employed GPs, and a full skills mix of clinicians including Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Prescriber and Paramedics. Not forgetting our fantastic Patient Services, Secretarial and Administrative teams.
We are an established training practice with 2 GP Trainers. In addition to GP Trainees, we also support medical and nursing students.

You will lead improvements to maximise safe, cost-effective best practice in prescribing to improve the quality of patient care.
You will support the Group by working within professional boundaries as part of a multi-disciplinary team, to ensure the effective and efficient use of medicines, and deliver key objectives.

Person Specification
Experience Essential
Working as a qualified Pharmacy Technician Working in a role involving administrative duties e.g. data checking and charging Working in a patient facing role providing information and/or advice Working both independently and as part of a team Working with multidisciplinary teams Working in a pressurised environment with differing or conflicting priorities Working with confidential information Experience of medicine optimisation and reconciliation Working with pharmacy or clinical information systems
Desirable
Working within primary care/General Practice Experience of repeat prescribing processes Experience of medication reviews Experience using SystmOne or other primary care clinical systems Analysis and reporting of prescribing data
Skills and Knowledge Essential
Audit skills Good interpersonal and communication skills Good IT skills including the Microsoft Office suite Understanding of legislation and guidelines on medicines management Knowledge of shared care protocols Leading improvement skills
Desirable
Knowledge of QOF, enhanced services and NHS contractual requirements
Qualifications Essential
GCSE grade A to C or equivalent English & Maths Recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification
Desirable
Medicines Management qualification Approved training pathway completion e.g. Pharmacy Educational Pathway (PCPEP) or Medicines Optimisation in Care Homes (MOCH)
Registrations Essential
Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
